Tom Hodnefield, partner, is the leader of the firm’s not-for-profit service area.  He specializes in audit, taxation, reporting and advisory services for not-for-profits and local governments including charter schools.  Tom is a frequent speaker on a variety of topics.

Tom serves on the Gustavus Adolphus College Audit Committee and is a current board member of Como Friends.  He was a national reviewer of the Government Finance Officers Association's Certificate of Achievement in Financial Reporting program and served as a committee member for both the Minnesota Society of Certified Public Accountants (MNCPA) governmental and not-for-profit committees.  He also was a member of the MNCPA Leadership Cabinet and a founding board member of the White Bear Lake Area Educational Foundation where he served as treasurer from 1994 to 2001.

Tom is a graduate of Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minn., and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Minnesota Society of Certified Public Accountants, the Minnesota Government Finance Officers Association and the Nonprofit Financial Group.

Feel free to call Tom “Auditor Athlete.”  He continues to play hockey in a men’s league and shares his love of baseball through coaching his sons’ teams for many years.  Tom and his wife, Nancy, live in Stillwater and have three children.
